Mountainfilm's 2026 Winter Fundraiser: Adventure Shorts

Mountainfilm’s annual winter fundraiser returns February 16 with The North Face Presents: Trango and a special Q&A with Jim Morrison

Telluride, Colo. (Jan. 26, 2026) — Mountainfilm’s annual Winter Fundraiser: Adventure Shorts returns Monday, February 16, 2026, at the Sheridan Opera House in Telluride. The evening features a lineup of adventure short films, highlighted by The North Face Presents: Trango, followed by a conversation and Q&A with The North Face athlete Jim Morrison. Special guests Cindy Farny and Director Chris Woods will also be in attendance to introduce their film, Mountain Joy. Doors open at 5 PM with appetizers, a silent auction, concessions and a cash bar available for purchase. The show begins at 6 PM.

Morrison is an American ski mountaineer known for descents in the Sierra Nevada and on high peaks around the world. In 2025, he made the first ski descent of Everest’s Hornbein Couloir. A familiar face in Telluride and part of the Mountainfilm community, Morrison has returned to Mountainfilm over the years to share stories and celebrate the spirit of big mountain adventure.

Trango follows ski mountaineers Jim Morrison and Christina “Lusti” Lustenberger as they attempt the first ski descent of Pakistan’s formidable Great Trango Tower. Audiences will also enjoy short films from the 2025 Mountainfilm Festival, including Mountain Joy, a film rooted in Colorado’s mountaineering legacy.

“Mountainfilm has always felt like a home base for big mountain stories and the people who tell them. Join me in Telluride on February 16 for a screening of Trango, a conversation about my recent Everest expedition and an evening supporting an organization that continues to inspire and elevate the best in adventure storytelling,” said Morrison.

Arrive at 5 PM to browse Mountainfilm’s silent auction featuring gear and experiences from The North Face, Wagner Skis, Opus Hut, Mountain Trip, Alpacka Raft, YETI and more. Mountainfilm will also auction a half-day, guided Telluride Via Ferrata experience with Jim Morrison and Mountain Trip, during the 2026 Festival (May 21-25, 2026).
