Zoë Colfax

Zoë Colfax is a documentary filmmaker whose work explores the power of storytelling to surface overlooked histories and challenge dominant narratives. Raised in New Mexico and trained in theater at New Mexico School for the Arts, she holds a bachelor’s degree from Yale University in African American studies and film and media studies. She brings a background in improvisation, performance and social justice advocacy to her nonfiction practice. Colfax is currently a videographer for the Seattle Reign FC, where she continues to hone her craft. Zoë Colfax is the director of Back to Blackdom (Mountainfilm 2026).
