Yuri Chicovsky

Yuri Chicovsky is a Colorado-born auteur focused on the American West and its original homesteading families and what it means to be Indigenous to a place, even as the world at large evolves beyond recognition. A true Renaissance man, Chicovsky is a cameraperson, classical pianist, songwriter, poet, elk hunting guide, former golf professional and is lauded for his teaching abilities and intimate, elder-focused memoir writing classes. He spent a decade recording life on a Moffat County sheep ranch and is now editing 500 hours of footage into a series of films, the first of which is the award-winning short Jacket (Mountainfilm 2022).
