Sean Grasso

Sean Grasso is a filmmaker based in Corvallis, Oregon. After a decade-long career as a documentary and commercial cinematographer, he shifted his lens toward directing projects centered on communities navigating institutional and ecological pressures. Grasso’s work has earned several Vimeo Staff Picks and the Artistic Vision Award at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival for his short film, The Butterfly Lab (Mountainfilm 2026). He is currently directing and producing his first feature-length documentary alongside the Independent Television Service. The film, The Caldera, is a portrait of a rural community in southeastern Oregon as they confront the proposed development of one of the world’s largest lithium deposits.
