Sarah Hughen

Sarah Hughen is a passionate advocate for positive storytelling and community engagement. A lifetime of extensive travel has inspired her to share these deeper connections by founding Sea State, an immersive study abroad company for undergraduates, as well as co-founding Foster the Earth, a nonprofit dedicated to offering underserved youth access to hiking and backpacking trips. Hughen is originally from Wisconsin but resides in Montana, where she’s balancing nearly being an empty nester with the new hobby of beekeeping to satiate her addiction to honey. Hughen helped direct See Like Me (Mountainfilm 2025).
