Samia Khan

Samia Khan is a producer and director who creates digital media around social justice issues. She’s worked with a wide range of clients to create stories that have impact — including films on racism in the media and human trafficking in the U.S. She leads partnership development and is a producer at MediaStorm, an award-winning digital storytelling company based in Brooklyn, where she co-produced the feature-length original film Fight Hate with Love. Other projects she has worked on include the "Innovators" series for WSJ. magazine, Infinity Award films for ICP, the feature films The Trials of Spring and The Long Night, and MediaStorm’s first ever partnership with CNN and Soledad O'Brien, The War Comes Home. Samia also trains emerging filmmakers on partnership and distribution strategies to encourage students to consider the business aspects of filmmaking in an ever-evolving media landscape. She is a skilled interviewer who had had the privilege of interviewing Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey, among others. Khan is the director of The Accidental Activist (Mountainfilm 2019).
