Raúl O. Paz-Pastrana

Raúl O. Paz-Pastrana is a Mexican immigrant filmmaker and MMAC member based in Denver. His work intersects experimental non-fiction, participatory filmmaking and visual ethnography to explore themes of belonging, alienation and the concept of home. His films have screened worldwide, including at Tribeca, Sheffield, the Aspen ShortFest and the Morelia International Film Festival. His work has received support from the Princess Grace Foundation, The Ford Foundation, the LEF Foundation, ITVS, Catapult and the Sundance Institute. Paz-Pastrana is a Firelight Documentary Lab Fellow, a New America National Fellow, a Creative Capital Awards Artist Fellow and a Guggenheim Fellow.
