Priscilla González Sainz

A first-generation Mexican-American storyteller, Priscilla González Sainz is drawn to themes of displacement, identity and transnationalism. She seeks to tell stories that call social, cultural and perceived barriers into question. Sainz earned her MFA in documentary film and video from Stanford University, where her student film, Room 140, was a Student Academy Award semifinalist. Her recent documentary, Status Pending (Mountainfilm 2021), chronicles the personal and professional lives of five first-generation immigration lawyers as they try to navigate the merciless U.S. immigration system.
