Oskar Enander

Renowned ski photographer Oskar Enander spends a lot of his time in hazardous conditions and difficult-to-navigate terrain. Often battling weather in order to direct his talent, Enander is recognized for the simplicity in his images. Awarded Photo of the Year from Powder Magazine three times, Enander proclaims “it’s pretty simple. It’s darkness and it’s white.” Despite being colorblind, Enander finds meaning in the subtle way the sun walks across the ridgeline. Although he sees mostly blue, the power of his pictures lies in the stark contrast between the darkness and the white. He is also the subject of Ski Photographer (Mountainfilm 2019).
