Nimco Sheikhaden

Nimco Sheikhaden is a Bronx-based filmmaker. She is the director of Exodus (Mountainfilm 2025), a documentary chronicling the journey of two women returning to their families and communities following decades of incarceration. It had its world premiere at SXSW 2025. Sheikhaden produced HBO’s “Eyes on the Prize” follow-up series on the ongoing fight for civil rights and Black and Missing, which won multiple awards, including a Cinema Eye Honor and the Television Academy Honors Award. Her work spans HBO, Netflix, Hulu and Peacock, and she’s collaborated with filmmakers like Sam Pollard and Alex Gibney. Currently, she’s directing Mama Fela.
