Marten Persiel

Filmmaker, author and commercial director Marten Persiel spent 13 years traveling through England, Spain, Brazil and the Philippines before returning to his birthplace of Berlin. Since then, he’s created four documentaries, countless award-winning commercials and befriended a network of filmmakers and producers around the world. Persiel considers his trademark skills the close bonds he makes with his protagonists and his off-key aesthetics. He searches for unusual, less restrictive narrative formats to tell his stories. Persiel’s debut film, This Ain’t California, won a host of international awards and was released worldwide.
