Mark Pedri

Mark Pedri is co-director of Mountain Roots (Mountainfilm 2025) and an expedition-based documentary filmmaker and writer from southwestern Wyoming, where he tells stories from off the beaten path. He founded Burning Torch Productions in 2011 to focus on character-driven stories from the backroads of the world. His films have played at international festivals, on national PBS, and have earned several Heartland Emmy nominations and three Emmy wins. Prior to making films full time, Pedri managed the Episodic Storytelling program at Sundance Institute. He has an MFA in producing from the University of Southern California and a master’s in communication and journalism from the University of Wyoming. He recently directed Brave Girl (Mountainfilm 2023).
