
Les Guthman
Les Guthman is a director, writer and producer who produced three of what Men’s Journal lists as the Top 20 Adventure Films of All Time. He was the founding executive producer of Outside Television, which he ran for nine years, and he produced more than 30 feature documentaries and television specials, five of which screened at Mountainfilm. Guthman has directed 12 feature documentaries, including Messner, which was an opening night selection at Mountainfilm in 2004, and two seminal environmental films with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr: The Hudson Riverkeepers and The Waterkeepers. He was also the founding executive producer of the Discover Magazine science series at the Walt Disney Company and head of the Annenberg Foundation's Explore Annenberg documentary and web video production initiative. Guthman has been a judge at the Banff Mountain Film Festival and twice directed the Explorers Club Film Festival (2008 and 2015).
