Leah Varjacques

Leah Varjacques is a two-time Emmy Award-winning documentary filmmaker and visual journalist based in Boulder, Colorado. She began her career producing video at The Atlantic and The New York Times before joining Vice News, where she reported, shot and produced dozens of stories. Varjacques is the director of Sound Guardians (Mountainfilm 2026). She later produced feature-length documentaries for “The New York Times Presents” on FX and Hulu. A recipient of the Ted Scripps Fellowship in Environmental Journalism and a Pulitzer Center grantee, Varjacques creates cinematic, deeply reported short documentaries. Originally from France, she speaks four languages, which has enabled her to tell stories around the world.
