Ken Etzel

Ken Etzel is director of Fire Lines (Mountainfilm 2025). With over a decade of visual storytelling experience, he strives to create compelling narrative-driven stories via stills and motion. His career began in the biological sciences, and as an ecologist he used birds to tell the story of environmental change that took him to spectacular places throughout the western U.S. Etzel’s photography and filmmaking have helped brands develop visual identities, enabled nonprofits to tell complex environmental stories, and supported editorial coverage of cutting-edge first ascents and leading scientific research.
