Jeff Plunkett

Jeff Plunkett is an Emmy-nominated and Overseas Press Club Award-winning producer and director who has worked with MTV, ESPN, HBO, CNBC, Discovery International, Al Jazeera, and Current TV. In 2006, he screened a short about the convergence of video gaming and journalism called Playing the News at Telluride Film Festival. Plunkett has made films about the illegal trade of young African soccer players, Big Tobbaco’s push into the developing world and America’s immigration system. He is the director of The Opposition (Mountainfilm 2014), a film about the 1974 World Cup game between Chile and the Soviet Union, a match that the Soviets boycotted and the Chileans won by scoring a goal against no one.
