Gaku Matsuda

Gaku Matsuda is co-director of Kentaro (Mountainfilm 2025) and a filmmaker based in Fukuoka, Japan. Growing up by the ocean and mountains, he discovered his love of the outdoors, something he very much cherishes today. After graduating from university in Kyoto, Matsuda found himself living in Australia, where his filmmaking career and passion truly began to flourish. Since returning to Japan in 2020, Matsuda has pushed further into all aspects of filmmaking from documentary to commercial. He has produced/filmed some projects in Japan, Australia, Iraq, Mongolia and New Zealand to date.
