Eliana Lafone

Eliana Lafone is a British-Uruguayan documentary filmmaker and producer with over a decade of experience across documentary, UK broadcast television and digital media. Frequently collaborating with grassroots organisations in the UK and Latin America, Lafone is passionate about stories that amplify underrepresented voices and offer new perspectives on urgent issues. Her reporting and films have been featured by the BBC, Channel 4, ITV, National Trust, WWF, RSPB, WaterAid, BBC World Service, Mongabay, Business Insider and the Latin America Bureau (LAB). Her films have screened at international festivals including Mountainfilm, Women’s Voices Now, Kunturñawi and more, where they have received multiple awards. Eliana Lafone is the director of After the Silence (Mountainfilm 2026).
