Edward Klaris

Edward Klaris is the managing partner of Klaris Law, a media and intellectual property boutique law firm based in New York. Klaris has advised creative people and companies his entire career. He has been actively involved in First Amendment litigation and acted as production counsel for documentaries. Before starting his firm, Klaris was senior vice president at Condé Nast, where he led legal and business affairs for the company from 2006 to 2014. Klaris was general counsel of The New Yorker from 2000 until 2006, media counsel at ABC and a litigation attorney at Davis Wright Tremaine, a leading IP and media firm in NY. Klaris has been an adjunct professor of law at Columbia Law School since 2005, where he teaches media law.
