Dean Potter

Dean Potter was a decorated climber and BASE jumper. From speed climbing The Nose on El Capitan in Yosemite National Park in California to BASE jumping 9,000 vertical feet off the Eiger in Switzerland, he always pushed the limits of his sports. He’s also known for exploits in highlining — traversing death-defying routes (such as above Yosemite Falls) on nothing more than nylon webbing. Potter’s dog, Whisper, was one of his partners in adventure. Potter died in May of 2015 in a BASE jumping accident in Yosemite.
