David (Mingyuan) Zheng

David (Mingyuan) Zheng is a Chinese-American documentary filmmaker and multimedia artist who directed The Voice of Bamboo (Mountainfilm 2025). He graduated from Yale University with a bachelor’s in psychology, where he also conducted research in history and archaeology. Drawing on his background, Zheng’s work explores the intersections of cultural identity, loss and the immigrant experience.
