Daniel Kaufman

Daniel Newell Kaufman is an award-winning American filmmaker, and director of Stone Mountain (Mountainfilm 2025). His work Variety and the LA Times have described as “masterful,” “intimate” and “movingly transparent.” He’s spent a career bridging opposites: from a background in human rights documentary, to his work as a music video and commercial director with Anonymous Content, working with artists ranging from the Decemberists to Jay Z. Independently, Kaufman’s work has been nominated for two Emmys and featured at Sheffield Doc Fest, SXSW, Tribeca and Cannes Film Festival. His latest film Stone Mountain, won the Grand Jury Prize at 2024 Doc NYC. He currently splits his time between New York City and the Catskill Mountains.
