Christina D. Bartson

Christina D. Bartson is a filmmaker and archivist based in London with roots in the Midwest, and director of Also Resisters (Mountainfilm 2025). Her projects consider the political economy of media and how narratives about conflict, social movements and land are metastasized and mobilized through archival materials. Her work has been supported by If/Then Shorts and Field of Vision, a 2024 NBC Universal Original Voices Accelerator Fellowship, 2023 Global Research Initiatives Fellowship (New York University), 2023 Moore Research Fellowship (Swarthmore College) and the 2022-2024 Diversabilities Scholarship at New York University. Bartson holds her master’s degree in media, culture and communication from New York University, where her graduate research focused on critical media theory, ethnographic cinema and war media, and her bachelor’s degree in media studies from Emerson College.
