Cheryl Strayed

Cheryl Strayed was catapulted to fame with her visceral 2012 memoir Wild, which spent seven weeks in the No. 1 spot on the New York Times bestseller list. She is also the author of the bestselling advice essay collection Tiny Beautiful Things, as well as the books Brave Enough and Torch. Her books have been translated into nearly 40 languages around the world and adapted for both the stage and screen. Strayed's essays have been published in The Best American Essays, The New York Times, The Washington Post Magazine, Vogue, Salon, The Sun, Tin House and elsewhere. She is the co-host, along with Steve Almond, of the popular podcast “Dear Sugar Radio.” Strayed has attended Mountainfilm as a special guest, author, judge, speaker and guest director. Along with her husband, filmmaker Brian Lindstrom, she is the co-director of the film We Are Forbidden (Mountainfilm 2019).
