Bria Light

Originally from Eugene, Oregon, Bria Light spent over a decade working around the globe as an international educator before getting her start in journalism reporting at the local newspaper in Telluride, Colorado. Her journalistic pursuits led her to UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism, where she completed the documentary film program. Light is the director of The Better It Gets (Mountainfilm 2026). Her previous work includes short films ranging in topics from musicians’ experiences with synesthesia, the struggles of traditional potters in Rajasthan, India, and ICE abuses at a county jail in California. When not working, you can find her playing the fiddle, trail running or attempting to train her weenie dog, Butterbeans.
