Bachar Khattar

Director and cinematographer Bachar Khattar was born in Lebanon and grew up in Beirut. After earning a degree in audiovisual studies, he began filming commercials, TV shows, web series and short documentaries. His first feature film project, Yemeniettes (2014), won several awards, including Best Documentary at the High Falls Film Festival. Khattar is an avid outdoorsman and has filmed in more than 20 countries. He is fluent in English, French and Arabic and splits his time between Beirut and Ottawa with his wife and son. His film, Confessions of a Runner (Mountainfilm 2021) takes place on the Lebanon Mountain Trail as an ultra runner struggles with his internal and external demons.
