Alex Massey

San Francisco-based art director, photographer and coconut and avocado enthusiast, Alex Massey is driven by endurance, adventure and discovery. Previously a resident of Sydney, Australia, Massey seems to be somewhat of an ultra-running gypsy as he circumnavigates the globe pocketing hundreds of miles and milestones along the way. His work includes Thirty Hours (2016), a heartwarming documentary about a 72-year-old runner completing the Western States 100, and Here and Far (2020), an exploration in meditation that captures Massey running 60 kilometers around his own house in 60 seconds of film. Massey’s most recent work One Star Reviews: National Parks (Mountainfilm 2021) is revelatory in its humorous rendition of hypercritical Yelpers and their opinions of Mother Nature.
