
Adla Massoud
Adla Massoud is an American Lebanese journalist and a documentary filmmaker whose work lies in telling intimate and character-driven stories that illuminate events of larger social and geopolitical consequence. She directed and produced her first award winning short documentary Wild is the Spring, which captures moments in the lives of diverse ethnic communities in the Levant who struggle to survive when life descends into chaos. It premiered at the Big Sky Film Festival in 2022 and was nominated for best short. Massoud is the director of 1983 (Mountainfilm 2026). In May 2022, Massoud was selected by the Arab Film and Media Institute as one of six "Rising Arab Women in Filmmaking." As a journalist with extensive international reporting experience in print, digital and broadcast, her work focuses on foreign policy, the United Nations and the Middle East.
