Live From Bidder 70 Trial: Monday Rally

Mountainfilm is well represented in Salt Lake City this week as Tim DeChristopher's trial kicks off. Festival Director David Holbrooke, Program Director Emily Long, filmmakers Beth and George Gage, Board Member Cathe Dyer, Genny Plamondon, as well as Chris Myers from the Telluride Town Council and several others are all there to stand in solidarity with DeChristopher.

"I want to stay here as long as possible to let it seep in. This is a big deal for my hometown. I love that Tim has shown us not only what is possible but what is necessary." -Terry Tempest Williams at Monday morning's rally.

“This trial is nothing but intimidation, and the best answers to intimidation are joy and resolve.” – from A Call to Action. As you can see from the photos, these people coming together in solidarity are coming together with inspired spirits. As Daryl Hannah said, this is the best rally she's ever been at "because so many people are smiling."

We'll be posting photos and updates as the trial progresses, so stay tuned.
