Overview

What Happened on Pam Island is a love story between two Polish alpinists on an extraordinary expedition. Their goal is to climb Maujit Qaqarssuasia on the uninhabited Pam Island in Greenland, which, at over 1,500 meters (around 5,100 feet), is the world’s highest, near-vertical sea cliff. To get there, they need to cross eerie, storm-ridden oceans in kayaks, where capsizing in freezing waters would mean almost-certain death. Eliza Kubarska and David Kaszlikowski filmed the expedition to capture not just the feats of mountaineering, but also their own beautiful (and complicated) romance. This original climbing film reveals new motivation to conquer the unclimbed: a kiss at the top.
