Overview

The Apple Pushers tells the story of people who— for many people—have blended into the fabric of New York City. These people are fruit and vegetable vendors who are faced with the challenge of bringing fresh produce to neighborhoods that have traditionally been nutritionally neglected. It is tough work but the men and women— all immigrants—who take on this tough task do it with dignity and focus and it is lovely to see the film explore their lives away from the carts when they head back home.
