Surf Cuba

In Cuba it’s all about boxing and baseball, but there’s a small, underground group of extreme sport addicts, too. From longtime surfers who pass on their passion to the next generation to skateboarders who carpool to skate spots, these athletes have created a community of like-minded individuals who dream of the perfect ride. With a lack of economic opportunity and governmental support for the sports, these Cuban surfers and skaters rely on their ingenuity and resilience to find the gear, transportation, and community needed to pursue their passion. It’s a film for “those who — rather than dwelling on why they can’t — focus on how they can.”
