Overview

Park ranger Claver Ntoyinkima takes immense pride in the Nyungwe National Park in Rwanda, which sits at the source of the Nile and Congo rivers. Director Chema Domenech’s wildlife cinematography lends weight to Ntoyinkima’s words as he speaks not only about the inherent value of biodiversity, but the importance of making ecotourism beneficial to local populations. He hopes that buffalo and elephants, cornerstone species that were eradicated from the forest by poachers during the Rwandan Civil War, will soon be reintroduced, meaning “the future of this park will be much better even than it is now.”
