Overview

In 1937, legendary mountaineer and photographer Bradford Washburn made the first ascent of Mount Lucania, but had to abandon a cache of gear, including his prized large-format aerial camera, on the remote Walsh Glacier in the Yukon. More than 80 years later, a team of skiers and scientists ventures out to search for the answer to the question that nagged Washburn throughout his life: What if these treasures are still there? As skier Griffin Post and glaciologist Dora Medrzycka work together to track down the lost equipment, the film explores obsession, risk and the enduring power of an idea. It is a reminder that even with few guarantees, some questions are still worth chasing.
