Blue Room

Hearing the sounds of chirping birds, feeling the ocean breeze and gazing at a starlit sky are some of the simple pleasures unattainable to most inmates. In two prisons in the Pacific Northwest, incarcerated men and women are given access to nature videos on loop, transporting them to scenes and experiences outsiders take for granted most days. Blue Room is a meditation on the human condition in prison and outside of it, exploring trauma, confinement and the wilderness.
