Overview

Betty Osceola is a Miccosukkee elder and activist who has been organizing interfaith prayer vigils outside “Alligator Alcatraz” every Sunday since the government turned an old airstrip in the Everglades into a migrant detention center. She prays for the people who find themselves captive inside the center, and for the closing of the facility that never should’ve been opened in Big Cypress National Preserve. A prayer-turned-immersive-experience, Alligator Altar follows Osceola as she speaks with the Creator, asking for guidance for those who have lost their way.
