Rivers, Time & Ecology

The San Miguel River is one of the nation's last free-flowing waterways and is vital to life in Telluride. It's the focus of this conversation between Sheep Mountain Alliance Executive Director Lexi Tuddenham and artist and philosopher Jonathon Keats. Alongside moderator Laura Colbert, Tuddenham and Keats will discuss the ecological significance of the San Miguel River, and how our relationship with the watershed might be enriched through artistic activations akin to the Alaska River Time initiative that Keats recently created in partnership with the Anchorage Museum. Building on their experience and commitment to environmentalism, Tuddenham and Keats discuss the potential for collaboration between science, art and activism to support environmental justice.
