Hilaree Nelson & Guests: A Conversation

Telluride local and Mountainfilm 2021 Guest Director Hilaree Nelson has numerous “firsts” associated with her name — she’s the first woman to climb two 8,000-meter peaks (Everest and Lhotse) in a single 24-hour period, later returning to complete the first-ever ski descent of Lhotse and the first woman to be named captain of The North Face global athlete team. But she’s more than just an elite athlete. Nelson is a mother, a dedicated activist working with Protect Our Winters (POW) and a longtime Mountainfilm attendee and the subject of several Mountainfilm films.

Nelson, and a surprise guest or two, will chat about some of her most memorable ascents and why protecting these wild places is so critical.
