Tyler J. Hamlet

It was during his high school years in Steamboat Springs, Colorado that Tyler J. Hamlet competed as a freestyle skier and took his first film class. He went on to graduate from the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara with a degree in motion picture arts and has been making ski films ever since. He joined the Poor Boyz Productions team and in 2009 won Powder Magazine’s Movie of the Year for Reasons: A Ski Documentary (2008). Hamlet has showcased his diverse talents in the film industry as a cameraman, editor, cinematographer and director — always striving to tell a story while showcasing extraordinary skiing. Of late, he partnered with Chris Benchetler to mastermind the truly unique Fire On The Mountain (Mountainfilm 2020).
