Travis Rummel is a filmmaker and a partner with Ben Knight in Felt Soul Media, which makes documentaries. The duo is known for thoughtful and beautiful films about the sport of fishing, and they have gained attention at festivals worldwide. Their film DamNation premiered in March 2014 at the South by Southwest Film Conference and Festival in Austin, Texas, and also screened at Mountainfilm in 2014. The documentary, produced in conjunction with Patagonia, explores dam removal and restoring free-flowing American rivers. The project received a Mountainfilm Commitment Grant in 2011. Felt Soul Media has also created the films Eastern Rises (2010), Red Gold (2008) and Unicorn Sashimi (2012), all of which screened at Mountainfilm. Rummel and Knight made the film Senior:82 Winters in Telluride and Kamchatka Steelhead Project (both at Mountainfilm 2016). Traveling down to Florida, the two captured another stunning story of fishing in 120:Tarpon Season (Mountainfilm 2017). Their latest project, which chronicles sandlot baseball in Texas, is The Long Time (Mountainfilm 2018).
