Tom Peters

An enthusiastic storyteller and lover of capitalism, Tom Peters believes that effective business management should offer opportunity for service, creativity and growth for workers. The Bloomsbury Press book Movers and Shakers: The 100 Most Influential Figures in Modern Business writes, “Tom Peters has probably done more than anyone else to shift the debate on management from the confines of boardrooms, academia and consultancies to a broader, worldwide audience, where it has become the staple diet of the media and managers alike.” Peters is a civil engineering graduate of Cornell, where he was also included in the book The 100 Most Notable Cornellians and earned an master’s degree in business. He also holds a doctorate in business from Stanford. Peters was a White House drug abuse advisor from 1973 to 1974 and an employee-turned-partner at McKinsey & Company from 1974 to 1981. In 1981, he founded Skunkworks Inc. and The Tom Peters Company.
