Tom Mustill

Science and wildlife filmmaker Tom Mustill, who founded the low-carbon filmmaking company Gripping Films, specializes in telling hugely relevant environmental stories while leaving the tiniest possible environmental impact. He has worked alongside such notable names as David Attenborough, Richard Dawkins and Stephen Fry — winning over 20 awards for his films. Captivated by wildlife and the wonders of the natural world, Mustill uses his craft to encourage action on conservation and protecting the atmosphere. His film Humpback Whales: A Detective Story (2019) is about his quest to find the whale that breached, landed on his kayak and nearly killed him. Mustill’s most recent film, #NatureNow (Mountainfilm 2020), is a personal appeal from Greta Thunberg and George Monbiot to use nature to heal our broken climate.
