Thomas Rowell
Conservation filmmaker and National Geographic Explorer Thomas Rowell grew up in a log cabin up a dirt road in the mountains of North Carolina. He studied theatre directing at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and has held residencies in dance and theater at the Waaw Centre in Sénégal and the Kennedy Center for the performing arts. As a conservation filmmaker, he has focused his lens on efforts to save the critically endangered Hawaiian crow, rhinos in Kenya and elephants, bears and leopards in India. He is the director of The Kings Keeper (Mountainfilm 2019).
