Thomas Dirnhofer
Born in Vorarlberg, Austria, self-taught filmmaker Thomas Dirnhofer has been an avid climber and mountaineer since a young age. Having worked on various music videos and advertisements, his first documentary film Cerro Torre (Mountainfilm 2015) is devoted to the the pursuit of sport in the mountains. Dirnhofer’s alpine background prepared him to work on this documentary about Austrian sport climber and mountaineer David Lama as he and his climbing partner, Peter Ortner, set out to climb the southeast face of Cerro Torre in Patagonia.
