Steve Jones has been making ski movies with brother, Todd Jones, since 1995 when they, along with friends Dirk Collins and Corey Gavitt, pooled their earnings as commercial fishermen and ski guides to found Teton Gravity Research (TGR). TGR’s annual movies have since become a tradition that rings in each ski season with footage of powder, steep lines and some of the best skiers and snowboarders in the world. Their film Almost Ablaze (Mountainfilm 2015) opens with big-mountain skier Angel Collinson, the first time TGR’s lead segment has belonged to a woman. With the tremendous creative power of TGR, came Rogue Elements: Corbet's Couloir Segment, 10 Year Old Kai Jones’ Mind-Blowing Season Edit (both Mountainfilm 2018) and Far Out (Mountainfilm 2019). As usual, the duo put together another great ski short with Winterland Segment (Mountainfilm 2020).
