Sophie Windsor Clive

Sophie Windsor Clive and Liberty Smith are independent filmmakers based in London, England. Their Islands and Rivers production company produces documentaries, educational films, animation workshops and interactive festival installations. They have collaborated with The House of Fairytales, Film London, October Films, Ideas Tap and many schools and museums. Their short film Murmuration and Island has won numerous awards. While in Ireland in 2011, the duo decided to canoe to a small island, filming their adventure. The pair brought two cameras out of habit, but the good camera’s batteries ran out. They managed to catch four minutes of film with thousands of starlings forming dynamic dark clouds on their non-HD camera before it got too dark.
