Based in Portland, Oregon, filmmaker Skye Fitzgerald has built a career around documenting human rights and social justice issues around the world. He has shot film for “Dateline NBC,” CNN, the History Channel, the Travel Channel and ABC. The founder of Spin Film, Fitzgerald’s documentaries have focused on the Oregon gun debate, a survivor of an acid attack in Southeast Asia and people who make a living hunting for bombs. His 2015 film 50 Feet from Syria (Mountainfilm 2016) tells the story of a determined doctor who repairs the bodies of the wounded just across the border from the war-ravaged country. His most recent film, Lifeboat (Mountainfilm 2018) is a Mountainfilm Commitment Grant Winner.
