Simon Perkins

Each summer, Simon Perkins would drive from Vermont’s Middlebury College (where he was majoring in English and American literature) to Montana. It was there that he worked for PRO Outfitters on the Blackfoot, Missouri and Smith rivers. His interest in film started during that time as a fly-fishing and bird-hunting guide. Perkins has since moved back to Vermont and works for Orvis. He is the director of Ascend (Mountainfilm 2017), For the Love of Mary (Mountainfilm 2018) and Broken (Mountainfilm 2019). His latest work includes A Reason to Fish (Mountainfilm 2020), which he co-directed with Henry Miles.
