Shyla Raghav
As Conservation International’s leading expert on climate change, Shyla Raghav advocates for nature-based solutions — from a 27,000-acre carbon-rich mangrove forest in Colombia to the largest tropical restoration in the Amazon. “The environmental movement needs to start thinking about resilience,” she says, “and the idea that natural ecosystems can mitigate climate change.” A negotiator of the 2016 Paris Agreement, Raghav advised the Maldives and ensured that island nations were represented in the agreement. She has also represented Conservation International at major conferences and climate talks.
