Sean Balmer

Growing up in Sydney, Australia, Sean Balmer spent much of his childhood in the mountains. When freeskiing exploded at the turn of the millennium, he was hooked and went in search for more. Balmer set up in Kitzbuhel, Austria, and for seven years chased winter around the world with camera in hand, putting himself next to the best cinematographers to absorb all the knowledge he could. After moving to Innsbruck, Austria, he used his collective experience to work with Nine Knights and Nine Queens events, which then led to him joining the GoPro European team as a production artist — overseeing the outdoor and adventure sports. It was with GoPro that he was able to apply the knowledge he’d accumulated to the POV content and storytelling, as seen in GoPro: Record Breaking Jump with David Wise (Mountainfilm 2017).
